Circular&Co. Reusable Coffee Cup – Made From Recycled Paper Cups
You’d be forgiven for thinking that all used coffee cups get recycled. But you’d be wrong. Still, less than 0.5% of used coffee cups actually get recycled.
Circular & Co collect cups from cafes around the UK by waste management companies, also via the National Cup Recycling scheme that many cafes and coffee chains sign up to.
The used cups and cleaned and shredded, then blended under high pressure with a recycled Polypropylene plastic, this allows the paper to be malleable enough to be used in a variety of manufacturing process. The final resin as such is a blend of 50% used cups and 50% recycled polymer.
